Rivergate Scrap Metals, a five-year-old scrapyard in Portland, Ore., has reorganized itself as a joint venture with the ferrous scrap offshoot of nearby Calbag Metals Co.
Ownership of the new entity, Rivergate Calbag, is split evenly between the two companies, with Fouad Daoud, Jim Perris and Justin Bors sharing the role of general manger.
The 10-acre yard employs 30 after slimming its work force for the economic downturn. Plans include installation later this year of a shredder from American Pulverizer Co., St. Louis, to handle white goods.
