At Calbag Metals we rank safety as a core principle of our operations. Operating safely protects our customers as well.

Our safety record of accidents and incidents is well below average for our industry. We provide comprehensive safety training that is specific to the work environment at Calbag Metals, utilizing outside certified instructors to train and re-train our staff on safety procedures. We also work closely with the loss prevention departments of our insurance companies. They provide outstanding training for current employees and new employees.

We regularly consult with OR-OSHA (in Oregon) and WISHA (in Washington) for facility and safety improvements. Their consultants are very knowledgeable and we’ve seen positive results from their assistance.

Following safe practices on the road and at customer sites is equally important. Our drivers receive annual safety training. This training includes safe practices for customer facilities, securing scrap metal loads safely, and handling on-road emergencies. Proper handling of on-road emergencies helps protect both Calbag Metals and our customers.
